out in the rain

I stood out in the rain up in New Hampshire with Dan holding signs for Kerry. There was a really positive energy when the polls closed….

Coda- mjw

I think I not only expect chaos now, but I've grown more trusting of it as a necessary stage to greater organization.

Picasso at the Lapin Agile

You see there's a distinction between talent and genius. And it's not just that they are spelled completely different. Talent is the ability to say things well, but genius is the ability to, well, say things. You have to work to have talent. But genius comes gift wrapped in a blue box from Tiffany's.
Here's the way I look at it: we're not so much going to change the century as bend it. Let's say Picasso is a genius. The century is just flying along in space and it whizzes by Picasso and it picks up speed and it flings itself in a new direction. Like a comet veering left at the sun. The century is just zig-zagging along, bending and curving influenced by the powerful gravity of the people like Picasso. But the century itself, because we're in it, appears to be heading straight.

Elect Kerry. He'll do.

Monday Morning

Life will start there, at the end of this ride. I will step off the train onto the platform. But there will be Europe for real, untouchted by war; no reconstructed "old towns' for the benefit of self-deluding tourists. Honesty in everything. And that honesty attracts a different type. There I'll find the people who... I spent a birthday in Budapest. No, can that be right? Did I notice? I arrived last year in November, today is November, so what did I do for it? Doesn't matter. This year will be different, surrounded by seriousness. Real life awaits...

Just a test to see how this all works...
